Guide on How to Utilize Link Wheel for your Web Page

Having a website is a great way for your business to connect with new customers. Unfortunately, while building a website has bought instant success for some businesses, it has the potential to be an absolute disaster for others.

Often website design is given much attention, but a good website design is not enough to ensure that your business will flourish effectively. A poor SEO campaign is often the primary reason for a website’s failure.

You may need to add several features for you to be able to maximize the efficiency of your online marketing site. Aside from proper web design, you should also implement different strategies to entice users to view the contents of your website. These procedures are necessary to define the success of your online business. However, this is only half of the marketing process. You should also keep in mind that the accessibility of your website is also important. Even though you have a good-looking website, if it does not receive any traffic, it would not be very effective in boosting your sales. Therefore, search engine optimization strategies should be importantly considered on your marketing solutions.

For in the online business starters, you can easily be recognized in the competitive world of Internet marketing by utilizing search engine optimization techniques for your website. One good strategy for increasing the traffic generated by your website is to implement link building. This can be easily done by using the Link Wheel method. With this approach, you can increase the visibility of your home page and at the same time reach your target customers effectively. Link Wheel approach utilizes the availability of Web 2.0 property sites, which can be interconnected to generate a lot of traffic for a marketing Hub page.

You may want to try the following simple procedures to help your website achieve higher rankings on search engines:

Create a Squidoo lens regarding the topic that you are featuring on your website. Make sure that the Squidoo lens that you have written contains a back link to your website.

The next step is to create an article about the same topic and submit it to different article databases such as Ezinearticles or GoArticles. Just make sure that your article is unique and complies with the guidelines of the article directories. Aside from that, you should also not forget inserting back links to the Squidoo lens you have previously written.

Moreover, you can extend the link connection further and create articles about the same topic on other blog sites such as Hubpages, Google Knol, Blogger and WordPress. Just make sure that all of these blog entries are interrelated and contains links that would redirect back to your website.

You have the option to leave the Link Wheel open or you may also want to keep the cycle and insert links back to the Squidoo lens. The more blog sites that you will include on your Link Wheel, the higher the chances that your website would generate the traffic it needs.

The significant increase on your Page Rank would eventually be visible in a week or two. In addition to that, you can also expect your website to appear on the top pages of major search engines. This can be a great start for promoting your own website without having to spend too much on other SEO tools.

If you look back on the past year, 2010 was truly the year social media took off. Although social media has been in regular use over the past decade, only until recently was it considered a viable internet marketing tool for increasing traffic and popularity. As the year ends, nearly all SEO companies (including ourselves) are predicting the trends for the upcoming year. Climb The Net, for example, thinks that social marketing will have ROI value. And, perhaps, their predictions are the most accurate. Many SEO professionals are still wondering, “How effective areFacebook and Twitter accounts for my clients?”

Social media, however, still has not been studied or used widely enough to prove itself as a tool for increasing business. Of course, this may change.

So, what can and can’t social media do? Facebook, Twitter, and blogs have supplemented SEO efforts. Blogs, one of the older forms of social media, generate regular content, which search engines like to see. Blogs, Facebook, and Twitter can offer link popularity, provided that “no follow” tags are not used, and can increase traffic.

Once the visitors end up on a website, what do they do? Do they browse through the pages and purchase something, or do they quickly go back to Facebook or Twitter? Facebook has an advantage with paid ads, but aside from these, how effective is Facebook, Twitter, or a blog in making a sale? Considering each business takes its own approach to social media, can the effectiveness ofFacebook, Twitter, and blogs be determined?

2011 might be the year in which social media is revealed as an effective tool for increasing business – or a big timewaster. Presently it works with SEO, although traditional optimization techniques still drive traffic and influence search engine ranks. As Facebook “likes” and business page popularity could become the next one-way links, developing a social media plan may become part of the optimization process.

The rest of SEO should not be ignored, however. The most notable change this past year was the official union between Yahoo and Bing that occurred in August. As the Search Engine Land article explains, both now use the same algorithm and comprise nearly a quarter of all search engine usage. Although Google still dominates, ranks on Yahoo and Bing matter more. Ignoring these two search engines ultimately means a loss of traffic.

Content and links, as well, evolve with search engine algorithms. Optimizing a page for one keyword term, for example, only gives partial results. As internet users are more likely to enter a tail phrase, a content page, title tag, and meta descriptions now need to consider these more than ever. Tail phrases are not secondary; ranking for one may lead to a sale. Nevertheless, copywriters should not resort to spam tactics to fit all phrases on one page. Essentially, this would be one step forward, and two steps back – or, more precisely, enough steps to go back six years. The challenge for SEO in 2011, then, is developing an approach to incorporate all phrases without keyword stuffing.

Links, always a conundrum in SEO, may have finally reached a plateau in 2011. One-way links are extremely effective in increasing popularity, but relevant reciprocal links are still necessary. Although links are not in danger of going the direction of H1 and keyword tags, 2011 will undoubtedly lead to more minor changes in their usage.

Interview with Danny Sullivan:

Danny Sullivan: If an article is retweeted or referenced much in Twitter, do you count that as a signal outside of finding any non-nofollowed links that may naturally result from it?

Bing: We do look at the social authority of a user. We look at how many people you follow, how many follow you, and this can add a little weight to a listing in regular search results. It carries much more weight in Bing Social Search, where tweets from more authoritative people will flow to the top when best match relevancy is used.

Google: Yes, we do use it as a signal. It is used as a signal in our organic and news rankings. We also use it to enhance our news universal by marking how many people shared an article.

Social media marketing is rapidly becoming a critical mechanism to influence and drive key business objectives. Interactive marketers who know the secrets to engaging prospects and customers on social sites and to analyzing return on investment can improve their business-impacting metrics, such as website visits, conversions, and sales.

Marketers are investing heavily in social media, but measuring the return from those investments remains

elusive. Too many organizations are relying on gut instinct and crude metrics to assess payback from their growing social media presence. Without an accurate measurement framework, they risk misinterpretation that can lead to misinformed decisions on budget allocations and marketing mix.

This white paper explores the opportunities and challenges in social media marketing and outlines practical solutions for assessing the return on investment of your initiatives, from social networking sites to blogs to syndicated videos. It covers how you can:

• Better understand, engage, and target social media users

• Understand social media payback in the context of the overall online marketing mix

• Understand the total impact of impression-based campaigns

• An appropriate attribute credit to social media channels and campaigns

• Use social media analytics to continually refine and improve initiatives

Commercial loans to small and medium-sized business enterprises (SMEs) in the emerging markets would greatly benefit the economies of these nations and serve as the best kind of “anti-poverty” program through their ability to create jobs and provide innovative products and services.
Speaking at the G20 business summit in Seoul, South Korea, Eduardo Elsztain, chairman of Banco Hipotecario, an Argentine commercial bank, spoke on the SME issue.

SMEs are typically non-subsidiary, independent firms which vary widely in number of employees and annual turnover (depending on region). For example, in the US an SME typically carries less than 500 workers, while in the EU it ranges from 200 to 250.

And now SMEs are spreading throughout the emerging markets, including the BRIC countries, as the spirit of entrepreneurialism has caught hold.

What is unquestioned about SMEs is how they already dominate the economies of virtually every country in the world. In Japan, 99.8 percent of all corporations are SMEs. They are typically heavily focused on manufacturing – e.g., 98 percent of manufacturing firms in Sweden are SMEs; 92 percent in Korea; 80 percent in Mexico.

SMEs are major job creators – it is estimated that SMEs account for half of total employment in the OECD, and 70 percent in Japan.
However, despite their track record of providing jobs and innovation, SMEs do not generally receive the financial support it needs either from governments, banking sector, capital markets or financial institutions.

Banco Hipotecario currently has a program to lend money to SMEs at reasonable costs. The Bank has reached an agreement with the Endeavor Foundation, an organization that identifies entrepreneurs running innovative, high-growth companies in the emerging markets.

“In Latin America SMEs face difficulties in getting access to credit at an affordable interest rate, especially in times of crisis, when the risk of default makes money even more expensive,” Elsztain said in a statement.

“One solution to address this issue and meanwhile benefit the economy as a whole is to have financial institutions lend money to SMEs with the option to (eventually) convert their credit into equity. In exchange for lending money at a lower rate, financial institutions are able to convert their loan into shares, in case the SMEs become successful. In this way, SMEs can also increase their shareholders equity and therefore enhance their capital structure.”

Food Security

Elsztain also spoke of global food security, in tandem with his role as chairman of Cresud, a Latin American agricultural company which controls about 2.5-million acres of rural properties primarily in Argentina and Brazil.

“Global population will grow from six to nine billion by 2050,” he said. “People are migrating from rural to urban areas at impressive rates [almost 40-million annually in China alone] and increasing income in emerging markets are changing consumer habits. All these will result in a larger protein-per-capita consumption.”

In such a scenario, Elsztain explained, worsened by the scarcity of water and high commodity prices, Latin America will have a key role in providing for such enormous needs.

“Investments in agribusiness and its ‘value chain’ (infrastructure and services) will promote growth and development to the region while addressing the world’s food security concerns,” he added.

With a population of over 1,300,000,000, it is the most populous country in the world.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) has led the PRC under a single-party system since the state’s establishment in 1949. The PRC is involved in a dispute over the political status of Taiwan. The CPC’s rival during the Chinese Civil War, the Kuomintang (KMT), fled to Taiwan and surrounding islands after its defeat in 1949, claiming legitimacy over China, Mongolia, and Tuva while it was the ruling power of the Republic of China (ROC). The term « Mainland China » is often used to denote the areas under PRC rule, but sometimes excludes its two Special Administrative Regions: Hong Kong and Macau.

- Rio Tinto Alcan has partnered Cameroon’s government in Alucam for an operation scheduled to include a 1 million tonne aluminium smelter at Kribi. Rio has said the project, including a 1,000 megawatt hydroelectric dam to power the smelter, will cost 140 billion CFA francs ($273.3 million). Construction timeline is 2015-18.
- Cameroon Alumina Limited (CAL), a bauxite mining joint venture formed by U.S. firm Hydromines, the United Arab Emirates’s Dubai Aluminium, and India’s Hindalco Industries, announced in November it found 550 million tonnes of bauxite and is targeting another 200 million tonnes.

It applied for a mining permit in December and start-up is planned for 2013. The consortium plans to invest $5-6 billion in the bauxite mining and refinery project at Ngaoundal, north of the capital, Yaounde, and a railway linking the project to the port of Kribi, 860 km away. The expected bauxite output is 4.5-9 million tonnes per annum.

COBALT
- Toronto-listed Geovic’s nickel-cobalt-manganese project in Nkamouna, in south-eastern Cameroon expects to produce 4,200 tonnes of cobalt per year and 2,100 tonnes of nickel per year for 21 years. The company said in July it could start mining by the end of 2010, accelerating a timetable that had been delayed to 2012. The project’s cost is estimated at $500 million.

IRON ORE
- Australia’s Sundance Resources has an exploration permit for the Mbalam deposits. The company delayed start-up of production from the $2.46 billion project by two years to 2013. Reserves are estimated at roughly 2.5 billion tonnes, including 2.325 billion tonnes of itabirite hematite and 215 million tonnes of high grade hematite. The company raised $89.7 in December to complete definitive feasibility study and hopes to produce some 35 million tonnes of ore per year.
- Australia’s Legend Mining Limited in September 2009 acquired a 90 percent interest in two exploration permits covering an area of approximately 2,400 km2 after it obtained 90 percent ownership of Camina (Cameroon Mining Action) SA. It said it raised $3.42 million in December to fast track exploration, drilling is envisaged for May-June 2010.

URANIUM
- Nu Energy Corporation, a subsidiary of Canada’s Mega Uranium MGA.TO, is exploring for uranium in two sites in the north and the south of the country. After initial positive results in September, the firm is planning a follow-up 2,000 metre drill programme in the Kitongo project in the north.

GOLD
- African Aura Mining is drilling at the Kambele prospect of its 100 percent owned Batouri gold exploration licence in the East region where the company has recorded visible gold in 25 out of 44 holes drilled.

DIAMONDS
- C&K Mining Inc, a joint Cameroon-Korean company operating near the border with Congo-Republic, is due to begin mining in 2010 with output to be 1 million carats in the first year and expected to reach 6 million carats a year at peak production. C&K signed mining convention with Cameroon in July and is now waiting for exploitation license.//Reuters
